EZ-POR 430
Our original refractory quartzite product has a high temperature limit of 3150º F. It is a blend of carefully selected and processed materials. This product is used as EBT fill material in the bottom tap hole of Electric Furnaces. It is primarily Silicon Oxide and it "POPS" with a fast opening.
EZ-POR 430 MOD
KBI developed a refined refractory product that has the same high degree of consistent free openings as the EZ-POR 430, but now improves the slags V ratio by making it more basic (PH 8.5 - 9.0). This will increase the sleeve life by up to 50%, yet maintain the 95-99% free openings as the EZ-POR 430.

The key to how our EZ-POR products deliver free openings and minimal metal penetration is due to the consistency and integrity of the product and process starting with where the product is mined, the chemical purity, size and shape of the aggregate, blending process and quality control using SPC (Statistical Process Control) monitoring. Every step of the process is controlled from creating the product to delivering the product.
